Help newbie with building lwjgl

Hi,
I checked out lwjgl from svn and now I am trying to build it.

I have my jre set up, and ant (in Linux, Fedora 12). When I try to compile lwjgl from the XML makefiles, I get bazillions of errors.
I read somewhere that I need jre v. 1.5, but I have 1.6.0_18
Could that be the problem?

(ant's a pretty cool build system, IMHO)
