There are two bugs:
1. you forgot to set the byteOrder: projMatrixBuffer.byteOrder(ByteOrder.nativeOrder())
2. you passed the wrong parameter to glGetFloat(GL_PROJECTION_MATRIX not GL_PROJECTION, ...)
