How to control real world devices with Java + LWJGL

Hi,

I'm trying to control a dimmer light and a celiling fan in the house with Java.
So I need both analog (for the dimmer light) and digital (on/off - for the fan)

I know LWJGL provides the access to input devices (e.g. controllers), but can
it also be used to control output devices?

If so, how and what other software + hardware do I need?

I will be very grateful for any pointers/hints/tips from any of the experts in this
forum.
