Hi, I've bought a notebook and was quite suprised that OpenGL runs very poorly on it, is it because of "Graphic card" VIA/S3 Unichrome Pro ? On my desktop LWJGL runs just fine. Do I need another DLL (probably silly question)?

Any opinions / help appriciated.

Fool Running

Most notebooks have really bad video cards for 3D. I think the video card you mention is one of of the bad ones. :)
Unfortunatly, I don't think there's really anything you can do to make it run better.  <---- (I like the new sad face  )
Programmers will, one day, rule the world... and the world won't notice until its too late.Just testing the marquee option ;D

I've had some experience with the via/s3 chips... give up all hope, sorry. :(

All I can think of is to just keep updating the drivers as they come out and see what happens.

yup as elias4444 said just hope that new drivers come out that make it work well, you could however try GLDirect sometimes it helps improves OpenGL performance http://www.scitechsoft.com/products/ent/gld_home.php
but its a long shot.

Thanks a lot! 500% better ... that means things are moving :-) not standing stupidly still. (Well what could I have expected when running Unreal + Java + OpenGL on Notebook right?)
