Olla!

The future is now, Vista is out and more and more gamers will use Vista ... as many new PCs are bundled with an OS ... and more and more are bundled with Vista.

First I'm glad, that the two main players nVidia and ATI provide OpenGL capable drivers. I've already seen an ATI card on Vista (32bit) and LWJGL 1.0 cooperate. Am I safe, thinking the 32bit version of Vista are covered?

But what happens, if more and more people use the 64bit variants of Vista? Does LWJGL already compile to this platform? IIRC, there's a 64bit Linux binary shipping with LWJGL 1.0.

Another native dependency is OpenAL, which might cause headaches with the Vista-thing when it comes to effects and hardware support.

Hasta luego,
Sor
