Title: An unexpected observation...
Post by: elias4444 on October 17, 2005, 14:22:17
I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this:  On my website //www.tommytwisters.com I offer the game downloads in a self-extracting installer version as well as a Java Webstart version. I completely expected the stand-alone installer to be the most hit/downloaded option... but I was wrong. According to my webstats, the .jnlp file is the most hit option BY FAR. What are you guys seeing with your games? I know Cas offers his both ways.

I see hardly anyone using Webstart but that's because I only offer Webstart to Linux users (well, it works for everybody, but they're not to know ;))

All I discovered with Webstart is that Webstart people are far less likely to buy. So I ditched it.

Cas :)

Yeah, I'm noticing the same thing about webstart users not buying. :P
