Title: LWJGL receives a shiny new Ultra 24 machine from SUN!
Post by: elias on July 25, 2008, 07:17:52
After several delays caused by various authorities, we've received a new machine directly from SUN. Right now it's in the hands of Oddlabs, and we'll use it to make LWJGL work on Solaris. Brian and myself will be working on this the coming weeks, and we'll make sure to keep you updated.

Thanks SUN!

I'd also like to thank Joshua Slack (http://www.renanse.com/blog/) (Renanse) from JME for setting all of this up.
We will be working on getting a solaris version up and running soon.

Sweet! I wonder what the game market is like on Solaris?  :P

Now if we could just get it working for iPhones....  ;)

Glad you guys finally got the machine!  :)  The game market might not be big on Solaris, but there's a lot of other uses for lwjgl...  Also, when I had lunch with Gosling at JavaOne, he mentioned that not having lwjgl run on Solaris was holding him back from playing with it (and jME at the time... :) )

Thanks for all your hard work on lwjgl guys.  Also, a big thanks to Sun and specifically John Wetherill who really did all the hard work cutting the red tape.  lwjgl is a great Java project and it's nice to see it get recognition.
