hi
i created a little demo using lwjgl
(http://drastic.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/exospec.png)
you can download it for windows and mac os x at:
http://drastic.net/12/exospect/ (http://drastic.net/12/exospect/)
or see some discussion about it here:
http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=34535 (http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=34535)
it is made with a tool made by me, which can be used to arrange/composite/keyframe effectplugins etc.

i am using an own xml format for the whole thing.
also i am using collada format for 3d meshes and animations.
uhh nice!
unfortunately I get hit by the timer bug - despite selecting only CPU0 via taskmanager, set affinity:
Quote...
getresourcebyfilename:overtextcircles.DAE
recreating pbuffer: 1024 x 1024
bpp:0
stenc:0
alpha:0
timer error...
could you elaborate on the timer issue ?
The Sys.getTime() method *should* be speedstep/dualcore safe?
uhm. i did not know about sys.gettime :D
it was quite a shock, that System.currentTimeMillis() seems to runs like 3 times to fast on some machines.
usualy i use a timer from fmod, but fmod3 seems to be a bit bugged on that too, for example mp3 files with vbr give strange results.
i will try to use sys.gettime tomorrow. thanks for that.
(there is another problem on some machines, which can not create a pbuffer (good graphic cards tough)...)
btw, great work on lwjgl :D
Nice demo! Haven't seen it fullscreen yet because LWJGL is broken on this Vista laptop but I got to watch it in a fairly smooth 640x480 window.
Cas :)
matzon, could you test this: http://drastic.net/files/demos/bm-exospect_win32fixed.zip (http://drastic.net/files/demos/bm-exospect_win32fixed.zip) ?
hopefully this fixes the timer issues...
thanks
it still spat some timer errors out in the shell, but the demo worked - nice work. never went above 10% cpu tho (after the initial calculations) on an E6750
