Title: Linux KDE issues
Post by: elias4444 on February 28, 2005, 16:55:28
I'm actually not a regular KDE user, but I've discovered that whereas LWJGL works wonderfully in Gnome and XFCE, it seems to repeatedly bomb out for people using KDE.

I'd like to see someone else test this more though. I have a feeling it has to do with windowed mode (as opposed to fullscreen mode) that causes things to bomb out. Anyone have any more experience with this?

I'll probably just install KDE to test it out, but if someone could spare me the effort, I'd appreciate it.  :D

We have 4 devel machines running SuSE 9.2 with the KDE desktop and LWJGL runs fine on all of them. Two machines are ATI, and two are NVIDIA, latest drivers.

Cool! Maybe it was just a configuration issue then. The machine was running Debian (Testing branch - Sarge), and was the default setup. I'll try to get a machine configured the same way once I get some time.
