Not all that important, but FYI: I notice that the awtgears demo on mac slows down at a fairly constant rate over time, on my machine starting at about 1600FPS and dropping about 80-100 FPS every 60 seconds thereafter (i got bored after it got down to 800FPS.)  The windows version seems stable.  .96-2 lwjgl release, Mac 10.3.8, all updates, Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz with a Radeon 9700 128MB vid card.

The regular lwjgl Gears demo runs at a fairly solid 2500 FPS on the same box.

does memory rise throughout ? - might be a leak of some sort...
sounds fairly odd that it continues to drop fps
